I loved wrestling from my first season. Due to my athleticism I had early success, but like most athletes, I hit that one season everyone dreads. I went and entire season losing every match. Luckily with the support of my parents and coaches, I was continuously reminded I had the potential for better, and stuck with it. Be a military child we weren't able to stay with a team for very long, but I was blessed to move to an area that provided me top training with coaches that knew what I was capable of. I started training year round, even driving up to four hours to receive highly competitive training to achieve my goals of becoming a better wrestler. I quickly closed the gap, learned to to wrestle smart, technical, and the motive of "I score first or nobody does".
This early introduction, to that next level of training helped to develop a strong work ethic, to strive beyond the normal season and it's practices. While my focus and dedication has been on wrestling, I enjoy being active and challenging myself in different athletic arenas. I ran track for a couple seasons, and played football. After taking a couple seasons off from the football field to focus on the mat, I decided to play again my Senior year. I was able to earn a starting position on both offense and defense, as well as gaining the title of Team Captain.
I feel my dedication and love to the sport along with the lessons of leaning on my support groups; being my parents, mentors/coaches, and team would make me a good candidate for a collegiate program.
