Personal Statement
~~I started wrestling in 8th grade and because of my size (heavyweight) I had one match all season, it lasted 8.6 seconds. I practiced 4 hours a day that year, 2 hours with my modified team then 2 hours with the varsity team, I knew by the end of that year I was a wrestler. In 9th grade I thought I would have a great season, I lost my first 10 matches, I listened to my coaches, made adjustments and finished the rest of the season undefeated. Last year my parents and I made the decision to start off season wrestling; my coach had been approached by Joe DeMeo at states and urged me to try out for Team New York, our family had never even heard of off season wrestling! I am a Native American with dual citizenship so decided to take full advantage and I wrestled for Team New York and traveled to Fargo, and I wrestled for Team Quebec and went to the Canada Games and won a silver medal. This year has been a learning year, my regular season went undefeated, I won every tournament, took some tough losses at States. I went to Virginia Beach Nationals went 2-2, went to Canadian Nationals won a silver in Freestyle and a Gold in Greco. I have always been a football player... MVP lineman... I hope to be a college wrestler. Academically I struggle with language and now math. I have a plan for summer school if needed; to retake a class or two that could if not raise my GPA prove I am willing to do what it takes to make it and I’m not afraid to work hard. My parents started a portable outdoor movie rental business for me and my brother to help us pay for all our sports so when we are not traveling to wrestling and football or lacrosse for my brother we not only set up rentals, but we offer free movie nights in our community, and we set up concession stand where proceeds help me travel to National events like Fargo and Canada Games
