Personal Statement
My goals in college are simple. I want to be the best and will do anything possible to achieve it. Freshman year I was out the whole season due to an injury. My sophomore year was going to be a testament to reaching my goals. I trained all summer so I could be bigger, faster and stronger than before. With no fear of getting hurt because the more you fear it the better chance it'll happen. One of my premier matches my sophomore year was against 2x state champion Nate Hagan. I wrestled my heart out and held Nate to a 4-2 score 30 seconds before end of match. I knew from that match I have what it takes to be a very competitive Division I wrestler. I wrestled up one weight class my junior year because it was the most competitive weight that would prepare me for state tournament. My losses came from state placers 3rd and up including a tough 1 pt loss to 2x state-runner up Chase Veydt. I have wins over current 3rd place finisher Tyler Copeland and commanding 7-2 win over 6th place Greg Briggs. I figured I could wing it in freshman academics like I have before and it cost me. I trained this past year with Team Miron. Coach Miron working on small things and improving my mental game. I plan to continue working with Coach Miron through my senior year. Since training with Miron I have wrestled the top kids in the state and have beaten the ones in my weight class. I am a multi-sport athlete and have never trained just for wrestling. I plan on dedicating my senior year to wrestling and show case my wrestling ability. Academically, I will put all I hVe into getting all A's my senior year and keep them coming all through college as I train to get that national title and possibly try for Olympic team. I believe I am a over look and under rated wrestler due to some really bad luck at the wrong times. I am an extremely hard worker and given the opportunity I will achieve a national title while representing myself, family, coaches, and University with integrity. This is why I believe I am a great candidate.
