Personal Statement
I have been in wrestling room for as long as I can remember. I actually learned to crawl in my older brother's school wrestling room where my dad coached little league. I am a third generation wrestler in my family but I want to be the first generation to go to college, compete, and graduate. I fell short this last season in the state tournament wrestling in the semis. The match went into ultimate ride out. I poured my heart into that match and gave it my very best. I walked away with the absolute will and determination to do better. My mother taught me, to be a good winner I have to learn to be a good loser. Sometimes I come up short, I pick myself up, dust off and keep working. Trying to learn more everyday. I try to be a good partner and role model for the younger wrestlers coming up. I want to earn that spot on the top of the podium next year.
My dream is to become a police officer when I graduate college. Wrestling has taught me the discipline and self control one needs to work in that profession. I've been blessed to have family who has supported me from the beginning and has made sure that I was able to have all the resources I needed to get me where I am today. For that, I will be forever grateful. I know others that aren't so lucky. I just hope someday that I will be able to give back to the family, and the sport that made me who I am.
