When I first started wrestling my freshman year it was because I liked the idea of it. It's just you and your opponent, no one else. Only you can change the course of the match. I have learned many things about myself through wrestling, like my abilities to lead and help others. I hope to excel academically in both high school and at the next level. During my three years of wrestling I have overcame many obstacles. My freshman and sophomore years at battlefield high school I didn't get much mat time, but I used this time to better myself in wrestling both on and off the mat. It was in my junior year that I really was able to wrestle for the first time and I loved it. I have learned how to face adversity with the utmost sense of confidence and character. With my senior year just around the corner I am nothing short of exuberant about what the future might hold.
