“Hi, I’m Tom Ptak the head coach of Illinois Valley Community College Women’s basketball team in Oglesby, IL. We are located in North Central Illinois, 90 miles southwest of Chicago. We are a Division II school and play in the Arrowhead conference, which is very competitive. Please check our web site out, the campus is beautiful. IVCC is an top notch school for academics, we are rated number 1 or 2 for students graduating from a four school with highest GPA, our student athletes are even higher. As a whole the IVCC athletic program has an accumulative GPA of 2.99,(2014) the point being you are a student before an athlete, hence Student-Athlete. I am not an in your face type of Coach, I believe in positive praise. We always try to push the ball and take the open shot. Man to Man is our first choice but we do what our talent dictates. We are looking for people who want to make a difference and play basketball in a fun environment.”

We push the ball up the court and are running a read and react offense, which includes constant movement that is triggered by the decisions made by the player who possesses the ball. The prospective athlete that will make a complete commitment to support the team's tough, unrelenting defensive play and will rise to the challenge of their defensive responsibility to achieve individual and team success.”
