What the Coaches are Saying...
Sep 11, 2018

“We completed the basketball season with an overall 17-6 record, 10-1 at home, 9-0 in conference, and the 2013-2014 NJCAA Region XXI Championship (first time in twelve years). The team had wins over the #10th and #14th nationally ranked teams for NJCAA Division 2 and received votes or had been ranked in the top 20 teams in the country for nine out of the eleven weeks of the season. We were nationally ranked as high as #16th for NJCAA Division 2, a first for Dean College Women’s Basketball. Additionally, we produced four First Team All-Region XXI players. Competing and winning against some of the best junior college women's basketball competition in New England, the present and future are bright for the Dean. As you look to continue your basketball career at the next level, I invite you to consider joining the strong tradition we have established at Dean College. With our academic reputation, our athletic success, and our commitment to the entire student-athlete experience, we provide a wonderful college atmosphere for our students. We pride ourselves in the importance of developing relationships with players, and that includes being a team both on and off the basketball court. We want our players to realize you will succeed in life and basketball. Athletically, Dean has a rich tradition as a member of the NJCAA. Considered one of the elite Division II programs in the northeast, we offer excellent financial aid packages, including partial athletic scholarships as well as need-based aid. Dean College is a private, coeducational, residential institution founded in 1865. We offer a broad range of academic majors, a small student-teacher ratio (14 to 1), and a personalized and learner-centered environment. Our primary mission is to prepare our students for transfer to Bachelor’s degree programs at leading colleges and universities. Nearly 90% of our graduates make this transition. Academically, we provide a comprehensive, liberal arts-based curriculum that gives our students the solid educational foundation they need. Our academic support programs, on and off-campus internships, and a wealth of activities for participation and leadership build the self-confidence needed for success.”
