Personal Statement
It has always been a dream of mine to play college ball, either baseball or football. Although I love them both, and play key positions in both, I’ve realized over time my heart is in baseball. I played varsity baseball the end of my 8th grade year and moved up permanently in the middle of my 9th grade year. Also, I’ve started QB since my 9th grade year. It’s a great feeling to know you’re the guy the coaches want to have on the mound or be up to bat in crucial moments. My goal in life is to go to college and major in kinesiology and become something along the lines of a dietary supplement specialist. I love to workout; nothing makes me happier than motivating my teammates and seeing them break their old weight maxes. Just recently, I determined my heart was in baseball when I tried out for the Barry Dean Underclassmen Regional Workout and was selected to participate in the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association All Star Tournament. I got to stay in Troy University’s dorms for three days and get one-on-one coaching from multiple college coaches. Also, I was voted All State for third base, which was a huge accomplishment for me, especially being a junior. Another factor that helped me become the player I am today was being counted on so early. I feel like I am a good candidate because I maintain good grades, I put in extra work before and/or after practice, and I will work as hard as I can to earn a position and do whatever needs to be done to help my team win.
