Personal Statement
My goal is to earn a scholarship playing baseball at the highest level possible. I want to earn a degree in Biology which will help me achieve a career in pharmaceutical or medical sales. I love baseball and it has been a major part of my life since I was 7 years old. I have a positive attitude and love to compete. I started baseball later than most of my friends and teammates but was good enough to make All-Stars early in my career. However, I always seemed to be watching from the bench. My dad and I spent many hours fielding ground balls, shagging flys and extra time hitting in the cages. I persevered through those tough first several of years until I began to realize the rewards of the extra time spent getting better. I made the all-tournament team at the Dizzy Dean World Series when I was 11 years old. That was the first year of playing real baseball with stealing and picking off base runners. I loved it. The next year I played competitive travel ball and was the starting shortstop for my travel team in the Championship game at the Gulf Shores USSSA world series. What a great experience it was.
Next came school ball in junior high. I continued to work on my baseball skills but realized how important it was to develop leadership skills. I was elected Captain and Best All around player on my Junior High team by my teammates and coaches at the end of my 8th grade season. I always try to set the right example on and off the field and be a positive attitude. I always trying to lift up my teammates when they face adversity.
Throughout my baseball career I have played every position on the field. I have always batted near the top of the line up and have excellent instincts running and stealing bases I know with my versatility to play any position, my instincts and speed, along with my leadership skills I can make a positive impact for a team in many different ways if given the opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
