Personal Statement
Being a Christian and being active in my church has really helped me grow as a person. On and off the field it has allowed me to have peace no matter the circumstances. I began playing baseball when I was 5 years old and immediately fell in love with the game. I have learned that you have to work hard for things, and that accomplishments are given to you, but you have to earn and work for them. I am working toward graduating from high school with a 3.5 GPA or greater and to achieve a 25 or greater on my ACT. I have had to overcome a lot of obstacles in baseball. Some of those obstacles have been my size and strength as compared to some of my teammates. A special achievement for me, was to earn a starting position on my middle and high school teams, beating out other kids who had been in the program for 2 to 3 years longer than I. I have used these challenges to push myself and to work on the things that I can control. I am very competitive, but try to win and compete with good sportsmanship. During the current health crisis, I have used my time to work on strength and conditioning thru daily work outs alone and with a small group of friends. I have also trained on a daily basis, including hitting in batting cages. I am a good defensive team player, who takes pride in having a great on base percentage and batting average.
