You name a sport, and I have probably played it! I grew up in a multi-sport environment as a child, which taught me many valuable skills and traits I now use in my sport of choice: baseball. Growing up in Canada, I always focused on hockey in the winter, and initially wanted to pursue a collegiate/professional career in that sport. Additionally, in the summer, I played basketball, baseball, and specialized in lacrosse at a younger age (including making the provincial lacrosse team). I have also participated a many school sports in my youth, including badminton, track and field, cross country, and volleyball. Over the past few years, my love of baseball has surpassed my love of all other sports, and I am committed and willing to do anything to make my dream of playing college baseball a reality.
Playing all these sports has put me in many different situations and has taught me a lot. I have been the youngest kid on the team, a weaker player on the team, the strongest player on my team, the new kid on the team, and everything in between. These experiences have shown me the importance of dedication, passion, commitment, flexibility and effort, which I can now apply to my baseball career. Also, I know student-athletes say this often, but, I am also committed to shining in the classroom, where I have achieved a 92% average throughout high school thus far.
Thank you,
Myles
