Personal Statement

I wish to attend college and reach my academic and athletic goals. I hope to play baseball and study Sports Medicine with a focus on Physical Therapy. I earned a 3.75 gpa while taking 2 honors classes. I have a summer job serving seniors in an assisted living Community and when I’m not at work, I go to the gym and work on my craft as a fielder and continue to grow as a hitter.
My primary position is centerfield, and my secondary positions are shortstop and pitching.

West Elite Champ. Scout Notes Kolby Felix (2022, Sun City, Ariz.) is a medium muscular build with broad shouldered athletic outfielder that will mature into a plus look. Defensively, Felix patrols the center field area aggressively looking to prey on runners. The uncommitted 22’ has some arm strength with carry and accuracy. He does recognize time and spacing as he showed some athleticism and creativity on an overthrow where he used a barehand pick up to nail a strike at third. At the plate, there is some serious upside. He has a simple approach with stance that has soft flexion in the knee, hinge in the hip, and a high back elbow. He starts his swing with a small toe tap getting linear landing in to a solid balance point. He turns from the middle and the back side connected causing good direction in his swing. There is some uphill to his bat path and he does have some hand strength. The combination of raw physical tools and his ability to get his barrel on the ball consistently, Kolby Felix won’t be under that radar for long. -Gabe Ortiz

KOLBY FELIX OF / SS / LIBERTY, AZ / 2022 Rankings STATERANK: 25 / POS: 5 5-foot-9 165-pounds, lean build with broad shoulders, looks bigger than what he's listed at. Some present strength & athleticism. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Sets up in a semi narrow base with knees inside his toes. Loads into the back hip with a small leg lift. Good bat speed, long into the hitting zone with varying swing plane. Mid/ oppo approach with some hard contact at 90mph exit velocity. Good athleticism in the OF with confident actions, naturally strong arm with more arm velocity present with added intensity. 82mph arm strength with carry. High upside OF prospect

Athletic uncommitted outfielder Kolby Felix (2022, Sun City, Ariz.) had a solid game at the plate in the late afternoon in the 16u division. He finished 2-for-3 with a triple down the right field line. Felix has a conventional looking upright stance that stays simple and quiet throughout. There’s present bat speed in his swing and he’s able to get his hands out on inside pitches. Felix’s barrel plane through the zone is slightly elevated, but he extends his hands well and his lower half creates good tension before launch.
