Personal Statement

  • There have been many factors in my life that have influenced who I am.  I am fortunate to be surrounded by a loving and supportive family. My parents have been married for over 20 years and their love for each other and for their children is truly evident.  Being the oldest child I have had to blaze the trail for my siblings and I have tried to be a good role model for them.  I grew up going to church every Sunday and being actively involved in my church.  Whether I was going to Sunday School or volunteering every summer at Vacation Bible School, our family always made time for church and it was a priority in our family.  My parents have a very strong work ethic and a passion for education.  All of these factors have helped influence me and shaped who I am.
  • I have always had a love of baseball, even before I was old enough to play organized sports.  My father coached my Little League teams, from an early age, and I always aspired to play the game at higher levels.  My parents eventually enrolled me into club baseball in middle school.  I have continued to play at the high school level and my next goal is play collegiate baseball while pursuing my higher education.
  • I have been humbled by the sport and have learned that you have to take the game one inning at a time.  No different than life, you have the ability to instigate change, for the positive, even after mistake or failure.  With hard work and a positive attitude, anything is possible.  In one season, I broke my wrist and later my nose which temporarily kept me from playing the game I love the most.  Any time you suffer a setback, you learn how to fight harder to earn your spot back on any team.
  • I currently attend a Jesuit high school and thus value more than just good grades.  At Brophy College Preparatory,  our motto is "Men for Others".  This philosophy has served me well in sports as a teammate, in the community and in my family as well.  In high school, I will continue to prepare myself for the future by developing strong study and organizational habits that will serve me well in college and for the rest of my life.  I will strive to graduate in four years from the college I am privileged to attend.
  • I believe that I bring a very strong work ethic, energy and spark to everything that I do.  I have been told that I possess a very strong character and I am not afraid to stand for what I believe in, especially my faith.  I believe in maintaining a positive attitude as that always brings out the best in those around me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
