Josh Combs '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Josh Combs and I am currently a Junior at Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 5 years old and fell in love with the game way back then. Because of my love for the game, from a very young age I have always had the desire to work hard with the goal of playing at the collegiate level.  I began playing in our local recreational league and started playing club baseball when I was 9 years old. I’ve played on several club teams throughout the years including Snipers Baseball, Madison Blast Baseball, Arizona Nutty Buddy Nationals and currently with the Arizona Athletics. I am very passionate about playing ball for great coaches and fortunate to have had many in recent years. Mid-way through the freshman season I was moved up to Varsity to pitch and was able to earn my Varsity letter.  My sophomore year, I was a starter for varsity and had a great season with 6 wins. I am a LHP with a Two-seam, Four-seam, Curve ball and a Changeup. My approach on the mound is to work efficiently, attack the strike zone and attempt to force hitters to be aggressive early I also play left field, right field and first base when not pitching. I work on conditioning, fielding, hitting and pitching 7 days a week. In terms of academics, I am an Honors student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I am also involved in my church’s youth ministry program and enjoy doing community service. I have a very supportive family who is committed to helping me reach my athletic and academic goals.
