Personal Statement
When I became interested in baseball at the age of 5 my dad began teaching me about the game and working with me on my fundamentals. I joined little league when I was 8 and excelled immediately. I was part of a Little League All-star team that won the district championship and I have won several championship rings with my travel ball teams. I know what it’s like to be part of a winning team but I have also learned from the losses along the way. Baseball has made me tough both physically and mentally.
I have been a starter on varsity since my sophomore year and I have been on my 18U travel ball team since I was 15. Although I am currently the starting varsity catcher, I am also a very good short stop and have been used as a utility player on my travel ball team when needed, including pitching. I consider myself a leader on and off the field.
My goal is to play for a college that will help me grow as a baseball player and support my desired field of study in sports/business management. I take pride in my athleticism and due to my versatility, I feel I would be an asset to any college team.
