Personal Statement

Hello, my name is William Landen Argabright.  I usually go by my middle name, Landen. I am from the small town of Cave Creek, Arizona. I am a Senior at Cactus Shadows High School, and I am graduating in 2021. My primary position is Catcher, I also Pitch and play Third Base. I have been playing baseball since the age of four.  In addition, I played football and basketball until my freshman year. I stopped playing multiple sports going into high school. I wanted to devote my time and energy into my favorite sport, knowing I wanted to pursue playing at the next level. I knew since the moment I stepped on a field that baseball was the sport for me. On the field I am loud, and a leader.  I take pride in being the best teammate, and showing the best sportsmanship on the field. Off the field, I am a very humble and mellow kid. I am very caring, and love helping people. At school, I was elected to be in the Cactus Shadows Captain's Council due to my leadership skills. Also, I am part of the National Honors Society for my Scholarship, Leadership, and Community Service. I devote most of my time to bettering my grades, working out, and fine tuning my skills. Being that I love helping people, in college I want to pursue an undergraduate degree that will allow me to get into a Physical Therapy Doctorate school. One of my baseball highlights was pitching the Arizona State Championship game to advance my team to the Little League Regionals in San Bernardino, CA. Through the game of baseball I have learned valuable life lessons. One of the biggest life lessons that I have learned, is that nothing is given. I have never been the biggest, fastest, strongest player, but I have the dedication, and commitment to outwork and always earn my position. One of my favorite words of advice my dad had said to me is, "Not succeeding at something doesn't mean you failed, it only gives you a chance to learn and become better".  I have always been told that I am very coachable. I respect the game and everything that it has brought me. Thank you for reading, and I hope to talk to you soon!

                  - Landen Argabright
