Personal Statement
"I am one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." ~ Helen Keller
My introduction and love of athletics began at a very young age. As the son of a professional gymnastics coach, I was bouncing on a trampoline and rolling around as a means of transportation long before I could walk. Always wanting to keep up with my older sister, I began baseball and swimming early in life. By the age of 6, I began both my competitive baseball and swimming careers. I have been blessed to be guided by my coaches and my parents, who have instilled in me the qualities of a strong work ethic and love of competition. My coaches have helped me develop the proper techniques and fundamentals to be competitive in both baseball and swimming. My parents have instilled in me the importance of being respectful and coachable. I strive daily to make the corrections that my coaches give me, enjoy the journey that my training provides me and respect my teammates, coaches and officials.
Losing a childhood friend and teammate last year due to an automobile accident has taught me to live my life to its fullest by appreciating each day that I get to participate in athletics. I am hopeful that I can find a college program that will help me continue to learn and develop my baseball skills to my maximum potential. Whether playing on the mound, in the outfield, or when I am up to bat, I strive to represent my team to the best of my abilities. If given the opportunity to play baseball in college, I look forward to learning as much as I can from my coaches and teammates and will do everything I can to contribute to the team in any way possible.
