I would love to play baseball in college while studying to earn a degree and great education! My primary position is pitcher and I've been described as someone who pitches to contact. In my most-recent season (Summer 2015), I threw 271 pitches over 17 innings and 90 batters faced. That's about 16 pitches per inning and 3 pitches per batter. Of the 271 pitches, 181 were strikes and my first-pitch strike percentage was .626 in this league. I keep my pitch count low and get my defense involved. Coaches have told me they like my pace that I keep the game in because it keeps everyone in rhythm. So, I have lots of things to offer a baseball team. I hit .316 and also played 1st base for our team. We played in a mixed age league so I was facing guys older than me sometimes. I'm also very coachable and take on leadership roles when I see the opportunity.
But I also am very interested in sciences like biology and chemistry and how they impact the human body. I'm not sure if I'd like to pursue a medical career, but I do like to learn about the human body. My mother is a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and I get involved in the Native American traditions there. I was also the Student Body President at Mansfeld Middle School in my 8th grade year and have made honor role in every quarter of my middle school career. I try to play as much baseball as I can, but I also play basketball with a club team and I practice Brazilian jiu jitsu.
If given an opportunity, I'm confident that I will put forth the best effort than any other member of the team, be a great teammate, and make the most of my education!
