I once heard a quote that said "Take a baseball player and put him in any other sport, and he'll compete but take any other athlete and throw him a 95 mph fastball and he won't touch it." As a 3 sport athlete, I understand that quote. As a 9th grader, starting catcher and varsity track team was a blessing but it was all cause the mentality I had, " I will not be outworked". I was 14, 5'8'', 120 pounds when I played and ran against 18 year olds, so being outworked wasn't an option. Leading devotionals with my school and other student athletes made me realize that all everything I do, I should do it as if for the Lord, like in 1Peter 4:10 says. Now being a junior, I have worked harder than everyone I could everyday and that's how I've gotten to be who I am today. Came from freshman starter to all conference and all state but it meant being the first to be there and the last to leave, but It was all worth it. So 2 years down and 2 left, what will being the first there and last to leave get me?Even if it doesn't get me anywhere it will be Gods plan. Hopefully college baseball, maybe even track, or both, a college education, and job after college and christian based family after everything is in the future.
