Personal Statement
When I learned the concepts, "Never take a pitch off"; and "The most important pitch in a game is the next one"; my grades began to rise and my play on the field became more consistent. Early on I was not as successful in the classroom and sometimes lacked focus on the field. I became a better student and catcher when I learned to give all my focus, concentration, and effort to the most present thing. When I do make mistakes, I remind myself to not take a pitch off and to concentrate one pitch at a time.
Travel baseball has been a lot of fun and I have met some good people. My team mates and I have won state tournament banners and I was happy when asked to play on the 2016 USSSA 14 year old All State team where I played with some really good players. Now, I am excited to play high school baseball where, as 9th grader, I started one third of my team's varsity games behind the plate. My immediate actions are to make the best of my high school career and enjoy the process of pursuing my dreams beyond high school.
My whole life, I have wanted to play college baseball. As a catcher, my goal is to be the best I can be and lead by example every pitch. I want to help my pitcher's and team mates lift their level of play and reach their potential as well.
I look forward to learning how my academic and athletic goals match the needs of you and your program.
