Personal Statement

Dear Coaches,

Hello my name is Nathan Chapman.  I am in my Senior year at Salinas High School, graduating in May 2019, and I was recently named to the 2018 Perfect Game Pre-Season Underclass All-American Team, High Honorable Mention.  Some facts you should know about me is that I'm left handed, I weigh 232 pounds and stand at six feet four inches.  I'm the #1 pitcher on Varsity this year and also play outfield and first base.  I am definitely interested in playing college baseball at a high level,  and I hope to make a valuable addition to your team.  I've played baseball since I was 4, and I have played in my local Pony league and travel teams since age 11.  I will be an asset to your team because I know how to work hard,  I am a natural leader, and will work to earn playing time.  In my freshman year, I played on the freshman basketball team, and I quickly moved up to the JV baseball team, where I enjoyed great success.  I pitched in 11 Varsity games my Sophomore year, 7 of them starts.  I had a 3.99 ERA in 33.1 innings with only 19 earned runs allowed and I struck out 25.  I helped our team earn a CCS bid with a win at Westmont High the week before WHS became 2017 D1 CCS champions. My Junior just finished this year and I was named to the 1st Team Monterey Bay League All Conference Team. I had a season long ERA of 2.62 and pitched 48 innings in 10 starts. I had 36 strikeouts and only 18 Earned Runs all year. I recently was ranked the #11 LHP in California by Perfect Game, and #110 ranked athlete in California for all positions. This past summer/fall I played with the CCB National Team 2019 and the Trosky Pro Scout Team and had an ERA of 0.75 for the Summer/Fall Schedule with 24 IP, 30Ks, 8 Hits and 6 walks. I hope this information helped you understand more about me, and I look forward to talking with you about opportunities on your team for 2019.

Sincerely,

Nathan Chapman

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
