Personal Statement

Dear coaches,

My passion for the game came to me when I played my third year, when I was six. That was when I made my first catch ever. There is no possible way to describe the way I felt after making my first catch. That excitement I felt when I made plays drove me to continue this great sport. It wasn't until my seventh year that I started to realize how good I was at my craft. That was the first year I played all stars where I lead the team in hits and RBIs. After that first year, I began to grow in confidence and skill which is when I began to be the natural leader I am today. I truly believe that I can be a natural born leader who is willing to put in the work to be the best. I'm willing to do what is best for the program and the team as a whole. my motto in life is play for the name on the front, not the back. I'm also what most of the coaches would call a "swiss army knife" mainly because I'll play any position with authority and to the best of my ability. I try to play with the integrity of Pete Rose, the true passion for the game as Derek Jeter, and the loyalty for the team shown from Dustin Pedroia. My goal in life currently is get farther through baseball then my uncle, only played up  to AA. It is the competitive side in me to strive to do the most while being the best. I do believe that my work ethics are far more superior to the people I play with and I want to take it to the next level. I try to stay hungry and continue to adapt and improve my play when I have the chance. I also believe that a good education is always needed. I honestly and fully believe that a knowledgeable society is a stronger society. I also completely understand that I am a STUDENT- ATHLETE and that student comes first. By the end of my college experience I want to be able to take what I have learned in my classes and on the field and apply it to my job whether its playing baseball at the next level or speaking for a company. These are some reasons why I believe that I am an ideal addition for your team. For more information send me a message via email or on my phone.

sincerely,

    Luke Currie

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
