Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to excel in the classroom and on the baseball field. My goal right now is to play baseball at the next level. I'm different than other players because I have been through trials and tribulations; an example of something I had to overcome is when I was 10. I acquired a rare viral/bacterial infection called ADEMS disease, which stands for Acute Disiminated Encephalitis Mulitis Syndrome, in short terms is swelling of the brain. This disease put me in a coma for a week and when I woke up, I had to relearn how to do everything, such as walking and talking. Many of these cases take the affected years to recover. While in the hospital, the entire medical staff were amazed at my determination and drive as I recovered within weeks. Nothing was going to deter me from supporting my team at the opening day ceremonies of my 10yo baseball year.
I know I would be a great candidate for your baseball program due to my natural born leadership skills, I am the eldest of 3 boys. I have a great work ethic, and I am very coachable. Academically I am very strong and I assure you that grades will never be a problem throughout my college experience.
