Derek Mundy '18 Recruiting Profile

I am Derek Mundy, I am 16 years old and am the starting catcher for the Davis High School varsity team. I am 6’2 and weigh 150 pounds.  I am a team player, hardworking, dedicated, and coachable. I have been working out with a personal trainer in order to get stronger. Outside of baseball I enjoy listening to music, snowboarding, playing basketball and hanging out with friends. I am a catcher with a 2.0 pop time and I have a huge desire to play baseball in college. I think it will be a fun experience and will allow me to compare my skills with the best players in the country. One of my biggest accomplishments was last summer when I threw out 5 runners in 7 innings. I am looking to go to a medium sized school on the West coast, but if given a better opportunity to play higher level baseball in a different location I would likely jump at the chance. My goal for playing college baseball is to start as soon as possible in the highest division that I can.
