2017 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Garret Nielsen and I attend Christian High School (2018 graduation) in El Cajon, CA. For my junior year, I was named All-League 1st Team and All-CIF 2nd Team San Diego County Section. I was also named to the All-Academic Team for San Diego Union Tribune. I hit .429 on the season (3rd in D1) and was top 6 or better in HR's, RBI's, OBP, and slugging %. I currently play Summer travel ball with The Show 17u Baseball managed by Brian Cain (619-248-9696) and located in San Diego CA. I am interested in learning about your school and potentially playing baseball at the next leve! A few facts about myself; I'm 6'3" and 227 lbs. I play 3B and the corner outfield positions. Along with baseball, I also played varsity football (I started as a sophomore playing both offense & defense as a tight end and defensive end), and varsity basketball (as a power forward). Just like my sporting career, I am also a hard worker in the classroom having achieved a 4.28 GPA this year (cumulative is 4.24 GPA) and was recognized on the Principal's Honor Roll (5 times). - You have been selected as one of 60 players to attend a 2017 BreakThrough Series hosted by MLB and USA Baseball this summer at the MLB Youth Academy in Compton, CA! This program is designed to provide elite caliber Players the opportunity to receive advanced level instruction, mentorship and insight from former ML Players and Coaches. Consistent with all of our summer show case events and camps , the BreakThrough Series is completely cost-free to the participant and an excellent opportunity to show case your talent in front of college coaches, MLB scouts, and personnel. Your participation in the BreakThrough Series will also qualify you for an opportunity to be selected on the MLB team which will participate in fall showcase tournaments in Jupiter and Ft.
