Personal Statement

I am a  competitor, a hard worker, and a leader on and of the field. I am willing to do anything in order to help my team succeed.  My reputation amongst my teammates is that I am the first to practice and the last to leave. When practice ends that does not mean I am done working on my game. I am constantly looking to improve all aspects of my game, whether that means I am in the cages or in the weight room.

I was named Team Captain on my HS Varsity team as a sophomore as well as helping to lead my team in both my freshmen and sophomore years to playoff berths, The first playoff berths for the school in 10 years. I also was named defensive player of the year my sophomore season. My junior season we made it to the playoffs for the third straight year. We won our first round playoff game. I was named team MVP, first team all league, and was second in the league MVP voting.

I take great pride in playing the game the right way and being a student of the game. I constantly want to improve my knowledge and performance of the game of baseball.  I would say one of my strongest attributes that  I could bring to the collegiate level is my ability to control and run the defense during a game from the position of catcher.  My coaches trusted me and allowed me to do this my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year. I also pride myself on being a catcher, pitchers want to throw to.  I believe I have great relationships with my pitchers.

I’ve learned to balance my academic and athletic schedules over the years. I’ve learned to challenge myself academically. This year I am currently taking an IB math course. I also have been involved with Student Government all three years of HS. I am a leader on campus.  I take great pride in my character on the field and on campus.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
