Personal Statement
Some people are born to do great things. I don't know if I was born to greatness but I do know I was born to play baseball. I was two years old when a broken leg landed me in a wheelchair for the entire summer. That's when I learned to hit. Sitting in a wheelchair in my backyard my parents would toss countless waffle balls for me. Since then I've never looked back. Yes I tried other sports but only because my parents thought it necessary to broaden my horizons. Nothing else stuck. My love is for baseball. Now it's my desire, drive and goal to find a school that will not only allow me to grow academically towards my future career but will also let me play the game I love for a few years more.
My career goal is to become a San Diego Firefighter. I am currently a cadet with SDFD and plan to continue working with them throughout my college career. Ultimately this means I need to find a school close enough to San Diego that I can attend the several events a semester that will keep me progressing through the cadet ranks. I know my time for playing baseball is limited which is why I will not do anything to jeopardize my opportunity. I will strive to do well academically and athletically. If you give me a chance to play for you I will play hard, with integrity, perseverance and passion.
