Hi, my name is Matt Deschaine and I am a senior at Nevada Union in Grass Valley, California. I have been playing baseball since I was 5 and playing at the college level has been a goal of mine since I was 8. I am currently a pitcher, shortstop, 3rd baseman, and 2nd baseman on the high school team and I play wherever the coach needs me. I plan to major in Kinesiology or something similar in the medical field during college and have a 3.6 unweighted GPA and I have taken both honors and AP classes throughout high school. I am diligent both in the classroom and on the field. I love going back and forth between teammates and coaches on how to constantly improve my game. I hope this gives you a better insight on who I am academically and athletically.

Yes. I have taken English 2H and Spanish 3H. I received a B both semesters for English 2H. For Spanish 3H I received an A the first semester, but due to COVID I had only a passing grade during the second semester.Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. I have previously taken AP Physics, AP United States History, AP Environmental Science, and Spanish 4 AP. I had an A the first semester in Physics, but due to COVID I had only a passing grade during the second semester. I decided to take APUSH because I felt that regular was easy and I could get a grade boost, but COVID hit and I only received a passing grade. I am currently taking APES and Spanish 4AP and received an A in both first semesters.Awards and Activities
