Layne Henderson '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Layne Henderson; I am 6' 5" and I weigh 190 pounds. I currently play for Lutheran of La Verne Varsity Team in California. I started at Bonita High School as a Designated Hitter. My primary position is pitcher, but, I'm also a utility player. My freshmen team went 20-5 and I received an Athletics award from my head coach. We won the league and the division. My sophomore year, I was a starting pitcher, but changed schools right at the start of my season which meant I needed to sit out the mandatory year suspension for school change. My Junior year, this year, I had to sit out 3 games which finished up my 1 year suspension. Now I'm back on track!

I have 3 years of high school baseball experience and started in the line up all 3 years. I offer a great attitude for the game and respect it dearly. Baseball has a special place in my heart and I have been doing it all my life. I will give 110% on and off the field. I am the first on the field and the last one to leave.

I have wanted to play college baseball all my life; it is something I am looking forward to very much. When I get in between the chalk, it is all business and I leave it all on the field. I also want to have the highest competition level I can be apart of, and I will work my hardest everyday.
