Personal Statement

My aspirations are to be a College Student Athlete.  I want to excel in the classroom and on the field.  I want to play on teams that compete for conference titles, regional titles, and national titles.  When my athletic eligibility is used up, I want to be handed a diploma and walk away with no regrets.

What makes me a good candidate for your University/Program and makes me different from other recruits is that "I will always do what needs to be done."  If a base runner needs to be sacrificed, I'll do it.  If I need to run 40 yards to back up a throw, I will do it.  If I need to change positions to help the team, I will do it.  If one of my teammates needs help with a class or needs me to hit him 100 ground balls, I will be there for him.  I will always do whatever I can to excel in the classroom and on the field, and to help my teammates and coaches to be successful.

  • Pretty good camp but we were limited to what we could do because of the rain. My defense stood out more than anything at this camp. My throws were a little off because of the wet ball but I still threw effectively. We only faced live pitchers for two at bats. It was a little weird because we faced live pitching with no fielders. The first guy I faced got the best of me. He got me 0-2 with heat. He threw pretty hard too. Then he wasted one that I laid off, I fouled off two the the right side, then he got me with a wicked curve with a sharp break. My second time up I worked to count to 3-1, then lined a ball up the middle.
  • Camp/Event
  • University of Antelope Valley Prospect Camp
  • 11/14/15 to 11/14/15
  • Pretty good camp. New college that has a lot of room for growth. My Travel Team (Stealth) attended the camp together. Only 26 players at the camp, so lots of playing time. I got to layout in Right Field to take a hit away from a guy with a head first diving catch during the scrimmage. I was 1 for 1 at the plate with an RBI single off the pitcher's glove, then a four pitch walk my second at bat. I don't like to take a walk at a camp but nothing was close.
  • Camp/Event
  • Trosky Baseball Camp
  • 11/08/15 to 11/08/15
  • Pretty good one day camp. A lot of good talent to compete with. Every pitcher I faced was throwing 85+. I hit the ball pretty well but ended up 0 for 3. Lined out to the SS, flied out to the Left, and stuck out on a ball in the dirt and a foot outside. One of the coaches call and hit and run so I tried to make contact with the bad pitch. I had a chance to throw a guy out at second on a ball I cut off in the gap, my throw beat the kid but the second baseman dropped the ball.
  • Camp/Event
  • MVP Baseball Camp
  • 11/07/15 to 11/07/15
  • Good one day camp, only about 25 kids there, some good ball players too. I only had two at bats in the scrimmage. My first at bat the pitcher drilled me in the back, with a breaking ball. My second at bat I hit a rocket into the 5/6 whole for a single. I made a really good catch in Left on a ball hit over my head. I ran directly back and caught the ball over my shoulder and kind of behind my head a little bit. I still don't know how I caught it, but I caught it and it looked good from what everybody said.
  • Camp/Event
  • California State University Monterey Bay Prospect Camp
  • 10/24/15 to 10/24/15
  • Great One Day Camp. Only 24 players total. Great opportunity to get to know the coaching staff and current players. Nice Facility too, still in the works. I was 1 for 3 with an infield single. Played good defense in Center. Got to play all three outfield positions but mostly played Center.
  • Camp/Event
  • San Francisco State University Prospect Camp
  • 9/27/15 to 9/27/15
  • Great One Day Camp. No wasted time standing around waiting to hit or field. It was very well organized and the program is up and coming. I don't like to hit when there's already a 1 and 1 count on me. I don't mind jumping on the first pitch, but with pitcher's I've never seen before, I like to look at a pitch and work the count a little. Still ended up swinging the bat okay, 1 for 4 with a single, fly out to left and two K's. The two K's were pitcher's who started me off with a curve ball, so I was immediately 1-2. Then they went with breaking balls and got me fishing for it. Take my hat of to them but I'll get them next time. I made a nice shoe string catch in Center to take a hit away from a kid for the first out of the scrimmage. It was exciting, since it seemed like I was playing against guys who were two or three years older than me.
  • Camp/Event
  • GOT'EM Baseball College Development Camp
  • 7/16/15 to 7/18/15
  • This is a three day overnight camp, with the scrimmage games played on Saturday. It was mostly a big waste of money and time. It was more like boy's camp or something. We did scrimmage the last day and I ended up 1 for 1 with a single to Right and a walk. The guy I got the single against was throwing gas. He struck out just about everyone he faced, but I pushed the ball to the right side for a hit. He kind of sawed me off but I was strong enough to get it out there.
