Personal Statement
Focus, hard work and dedication define everything I do in life. I have always taken as much pride in my schoolwork as my athletic achievements. Maintaining a high GPA, no matter the level of classes, is very important to me. I strive to do whatever is necessary to reach my full potential as a student athlete. Doing so allows me to stay eligible on the field, set a positive example as a team leader, and be there for my teammates when they need me most.
Sports have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. No matter the sport, if there was a ball involved, I enjoyed the game and the competition. Growing up I’ve played football, golf, basketball and baseball. Baseball is my passion. It’s a game I love to play and a game that I feel I truly excel at playing.
I started playing baseball at age 5 and learned how to play every position on the field through the years. At age 12, I started to focus more on middle infield and started to truly develop my skills as a pitcher. I take great pride in being a team leader and always prepare for and expect success; I expect to win. Winning is an attitude. Winning is part of who I am. Given the opportunity to continue toward my goal of achieving excellence both in the classroom and on the diamond, by doing what I love, it would truly be an amazing experience to play at the collegiate level and beyond.
