Tyler Freeman '22 Recruiting Profile

My grad year is listed as 2021, however I am a 2019 grad and will be taking 2 years off to serve a mission. I will then be available to play as a 20yr old freshman in 2021.

Baseball is my passion. I have played baseball since I was 3 years old, in many different leagues and teams, which have given me the opportunity to grow in my skill and knowledge of the sport. With my most recent team, JG Baseball Academy, I have had the opportunity to hone my skills even more while competing against some of the best players in the country.  Having played and studied the game for this long, I am positive I would be a great asset to your team.

Growing up I played multiple sports, such as: soccer, basketball, flag football, golf, swim, and tennis. Playing multiple sports allowed me to stay well rounded in my abilities and increase my level of competition. I have continued to play multiple sports, football, wrestling and baseball, as a freshman and sophomore in high school, while maintaining a 3.5+ unweighted G.P.A. in honors and Advanced Placement classes.

I am looking to continue my academic career while playing baseball at the college level.  Where that will be, I’m not sure.  I love the allure of a large campus with a large student body. I also like the small town feel we have in our city where I don’t feel lost in the sea of people.  I would prefer a campus near California, but I am willing to go anywhere, regardless of size or location, so I can fulfill my dream of playing college baseball.

When making that decision of where to play, financial aid will strongly factor into my final decision as to which college or university I will be attending. With five children in our family, I cannot rely on my parents to cover my college expenses.

Having grown up in a large family, I have learned many great qualities that I can bring to any team. I am a leader, a team player, and I get along very well with fellow teammates and coaches. I understand the needs of team come before my own and am willing to help out with whatever is needed.  This football off season I have added quarter back to the positions I am learning because that is where my coach needed me to be.  I’m coachable, have a strong desire to learn and am hard working individual.
