Personal Statement
My name is Anthony Huezo, born in 2005 to Felix and Fabiola Huezo. I am from Palmdale, CA, which is where I was born and grew up.
I have been playing baseball since I was 3 years old. Although I am a natural righty, my first time swinging the bat was from the left side. I love being a lefty hitter. Always being one of the youngest on the team, I had to step up my game. I started playing the outfield and learned how to track a baseball off the bat really well. Being the youngest in my family allowed me to learn the game a bit faster than my siblings. Becoming a great student/athlete was instilled in me by my coaches in my younger years. That mentality has resonated and has become my utmost goal in my young life. I received the President’s Silver Award at my 8th grade graduation ceremony for accomplishing excellence in academics. I was fortunate to go to Cooperstown at age 12, the competition was amazing, but winning the whole thing was something I will never forget. Winning was nice, but the friendship with all my teammates was a lifetime of friends I will always cherish.
I can play anywhere on the field. Although a great outfielder, I continue working as a middle infielder. I also take pride in my hearing abilities. One of the best things I like about being an outfielder is throwing that runner out. Putting the work in the cage is my passion. Making that work show on the field is my goal.
I look forward to hopefully playing at the next level in college or the pros. I know I will continue to work hard in school and on the field. Getting an opportunity at next level is my goal and I will be determined with any opportunity if given the chance. I work hard to learn and I am a extremely good teammate respecting the game we all love to play.
