Playing at the highest level possible in baseball has been an aspiration of mine since I was 10 years old. When I first started Little League T ball, I was a pretty timid kid. I always felt athletic; however, I realized that my shyness was holding me back in baseball and in other areas of my life. I decided to push beyond my shyness and began to focus on practicing and working hard in baseball. Listening to my coaches and the other players helped me become a better player and a better person. Although there were times that I wanted to give up in baseball, I never did. I am grateful for this.
Baseball has opened up many opportunities for me. I really appreciate the growth and leadership skills I have developed in baseball. I can bring leadership skills, athleticism, and grit to any baseball team I am lucky to play on. My coaches and teammates would agree. As the saying "leave it all on the field" goes, I give it 100% every day I play the game with character, determination, and confidence.
What makes me different from other recruits? It would be difficult to pigeon-hole me as a "one-sided" baseball player. I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities beyond the baseball field. I find balance in doing rock climbing, surfing, skateboarding, and volleyball which helps me with my game. I also enjoy playing the guitar and writing music. Academically speaking, I enjoy school and learning. Currently, I am interested in Sciences and Languages. I am trilingual (English, Spanish, and French) and am interested in using this skill in the future in some way with my field of study.
