Personal Statement
Baseball has had a significant impact on my life since I started playing at 9 years old. I fell in love with the game and the idea of playing in college, and at the same time fell in love with the grind and the hard work that it takes to succeed. As I have learned of what it takes to succeed from an athletic standpoint, I have become more appreciative of my academics and am more thoughtful about the decisions I make daily. Baseball has influenced me to excel on the field, in the classroom and as a person. The work ethic and leadership that I have developed for baseball carries into the classroom, which can be seen in my class load and 4.07 GPA. Baseball has taught me the importance of character and how to be a strong team leader when on and off the field. Education is as important to me as playing the sport of baseball and I am excited to have an opportunity to do both at a collegiate level. Recruiting me would not just give you a reliable and talented catcher behind the dish, but it would give your school a hard worker in the classroom and a genuine person on campus.
