No matter what I do in life, I always strive to be in control of how these events will affect me. Pitching gives me the opportunity to have this control in each of my starts. Each opposing batter is forced to beat me in order to score runs and defeat my team. Losses only tell me that I need to continue working on my command and to be ready for my next start. The ability to have this control helps me forget about these loses and makes moving on much easier. Another important place for me to be in control is the classroom.
Ever since I was a young, good grades have always been very important to me. In my efforts to obtain these grades, I have learned how to stay in control of the grade I receive. From projects to book work, I study the information given to the point where I can do more than what I am required to do. This is beneficial for me when it comes to projects because if I am stuck with someone who slacks off, I can fill in and do what I have to. Staying in control makes things in my life a lot easier and allows me to focus on where I need to improve.
