My name is Sean Coyne and I am a 6’0” 185 lb. Infielder/ Pitcher from San Diego California. I run a 7.4 – 60 yard dash. It is of great importance to me to continue my talents at the collegiate level. My freshmen year at St. Augustine High School I was a member of the freshmen team as the starting catcher and I achieved a .409 batting average and received the team’s MVP award at the end of that season. My sophomore year I was a member of the Junior Varsity team were I was the starting shortstop and a member of the pitching rotation as well. I feel that my best qualities as a player on the field as well as off are leadership, a utilitarian, focus and heart. Leadership, I can command the field vocally at shortstop as well as motivate others during practice and workouts by my actions. Utilitarian, I can play every single position on the field and I will do everything I can to succeed in such positions. Finally, focus and heart, it has been instilled in me through various coaches to play every game as it were to be my last, and I take that very seriously. I always try my best to keep great focus in the classroom as well as on the field. So far in high school I have obtained a 3.12 GPA in a very demanding academic curriculum and I have yet to take the SAT and the ACT, but I plan on taking both tests in the near future. I would like to major in Psychology with a background in Criminal Human Behavioral Studies. I am very open about attending any college across the United States if it has my major and is willing to give me a chance to play for their program. However, I would prefer to play on the West coast as well as the South Eastern areas. I would like to make an impact and play as soon as possible when I make it to college, but I also understand that takes “out working” the guy next to me, and I am prepared to do so.
