Personal Statement
Read: Train: Give: My name is Jesse Gadd and I am entering my senior year at La Quinta High School in La Quinta California. I primarily play first base, but I also play third. My collegiate baseball goal is to play at as high a level as I can. Academically, I take mainly honors classes and a good collegiate fit is an important goal of mine. Presently I am interested in possibly studying in the fields of sciences or social sciences.
In my Junior season at La Quinta we were 12 games in and I was off to a really good season when COVID put a halt to it. I was hitting .405, leading my team with 17 hits. I was also leading our league in extra base hits with six doubles and a home run. This season I look forward to taking a leadership role and continuing where I left off as a junior. I feel a strength of mine is understanding little things in baseball that go a long way. I take pride in my hustle, being a good team mate, picking up team mates when necessary, or warming up the left fielder if necessary. I recognize all of these responsibilities as important in playing winning baseball.
I am a honor role student with a 3.61 unweighted GPA taking rigorous honors , IB and AP classes. A 4.4 weighted GPA. I work hard in the classroom and on my game. I mix baseball skill training with speed and agility and weight workouts. I believe my work ethic, continued through my senior year, will open up the doors to a college that will be a good fit.
