Personal Statement
Over the past several years, I have been a two-sport athlete (baseball and football) and love both team sports and the competition and challenges. Baseball is my first love, and have seriously considered the prospect of playing at the collegiate level. I know that playing baseball in college is a special opportunity that will require hard work and dedication. If I am fortunate enough to play in college, I know it will be a challenge and a great experience for my development and life, plus I get to keep playing a game I love.
For baseball, I have always been a pitcher, and always loved the mindset required, battle with each different batter, and having the ball in my hands to impact the game. I also love playing outfield and the challenges it brings. I feel like I am very coachable and always take information from coaches or players to try and apply to make myself better. I enjoy working hard, and have played baseball in Colorado during the spring and summer each year, and playing other sports year round. I continue strength and agility training to reduce risk of injury as much as possible.
In the classroom, I take my studies and grades very seriously and have worked hard to maintain a high GPA. I also have volunteered as a youth assistant basketball coach the past three years, and am involved in my church youth group.
I want to attend a college where I can continue to be challenged on the field to improve as a baseball player/pitcher, and in the classroom for my future and career. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match academically and at a high level of competition.
