Personal Statement
Hello coaches, I have been playing baseball my entire life with a goal of playing in college over the past two years after a life-changing trip to the Dominican Republic where I learned that the game I love is way more than just a game. Baseball can impact lives for the better and I would like to be a part of this great game for as long as I can, with college baseball being the next major milestone.
Using baseball as motivation, I will continue to work hard as a student-athlete to reach my next goal of competing at the college level. My goal is to get as much out of my skill as possible which requires dedication as an athlete, and specifically on the skills required to play college baseball. At the heart of my dream to play college baseball is a very strong work-ethic that drives me to compete, to train, and to have a forward-thinking vision about where I want to be and what I want to do.
The skills I have developed around baseball will translate to my life after college as well, I am sure. My trip to the Dominican Republic when I was 12 years old showed me that baseball can impact people’s lives by inspiring super-human determination and effort. Players in the Dominican would literally bleed in shoes too small, run in pants too big and smile the whole time. Comparing myself to others who I met on the trip, I believe that baseball will allow me to fulfill my potential by pushing myself through challenges, constantly working to get better, and serving others along the way. My hope is that I can leave you with an impression when we meet that the character I have will add value to your program, my teammates and the school overall.
