I believe what really brought me closer with the game that I love is when I won the state tournament for my club team at the majors’ level in 2015. This season as a whole showed me how much potential that I have and competition level seen while, I traveled around the country to play ball. Although this was the year that really brought it all together for me, I’ve been playing this game since before I can even remember. I have probably been playing for somewhere around 10 years now. This sport has really showed me that it has a lot of mental aspects around it and if you can’t get through that then you won’t make it very far. There are so many similarities that tie Baseball to real life. You have to be humble in victory and not allow the defeats to overwhelm you. Being able to work thru a slump and responding to adversity in everyday life need to be attacked with the same passion. The best players just know how to get back up.
My academics are very important to myself. I put forth great effort to academics, and this will not change. Being very close to having a 4.0 GPA already, I am wanting to push this above that bench mark in the next two years. I am going to continue my DECA education for the remainder of High School. I did qualify in two separate categories this year for the State competition. For college I want to go get my degree in the Sports Marketing field so, after I am done with baseball, hopefully not for a while, I can still bring myself as close as possible to the game each and every day. I also see myself as very coachable and willing to get help when I need it, rather than letting it go in one ear and out the other. One of the biggest keys still through it all is my competitive drive to be better than the guy next to me.
