Personal Statement
I love the game of baseball, the work it takes to improve, the strategies during the game and behind the scenes. As a player, I am always confident in my abilities when I step on the mound, up to the plate, or in the field at first base. I am always eager to learn and take on new positions (i.e. outfield) when called upon. As a LHP, I have the mindset that this is my game, my field, my mound and you're going to have to knock me off my mountain if you want me off the field. I like to think that I stand out from other players due to my baseball IQ and abilities to continually look for on-field opportunities; to think ahead of each play (strategize, even when I'm not on the field) and create a bond with teammates and coaches. Each time before I take the field, I plan out scenarios in my head as to who I am facing, where I should be going with the ball before each play, and strive for decisive placement when on the mound. I am always willing to put in more effort than anyone else, knowing that it will make me better as a player, teammate and person.
