Brandon Smith '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches,

My name is Brandon Smith, and I attend Hopkins School in New Haven, CT. I have been playing baseball for almost my entire life, as well as playing football and hockey. I am also the president of my school's Young Politics club, USA Hockey Club, and captain of our weight lifting team. I am currently working on a local senator's campaign. Whether it be in the classroom, on the ice, or on the field, I always conduct myself with tremendous discipline and respect for everyone. I consider myself a strong leader, and I am always striving to enhance this trait everyday. No matter the scenario of the game, I am always vocal and supportive to my teammates and coaches. Everytime I lace up my cleats and step on the field, whether it be for a practice or game situation, I give my teammates 110% of my effort, and I always have their back. 

My competitive, agressive style of play has allowed for me to take on leadership roles on every team I have played for. I make the most out of every opportunity given to me, taking nothing for granted. I push myself and my teammates to play to our potential, and then some. I am always looking for ways to better my game, learning from mistakes and recognizing what approach I need for my next practice or game in order to play with an abundance of tenacity and heart. I never rest on my laurels, and even when I am playing well, I can ALWAYS do better.

Baseball has been a passion of mine since I started playing at three years of age. I am grateful for all the joy, excitement, and lessons baseball has taught me throughout the years. I would be honored to continue playing in college, and given the opportunity, I personally guarantee I will take on all challenges thrown towards me with a positive attitude, and give the team everything I have.
