Personal Statement
My name is Hudson Meyer and I am from Shelton, Connecticut. I have been playing baseball my whole life, whether it’s in the backyard or on the field. I tried other sports like basketball when I was younger, but when I found baseball I knew that this was the sport for me. I knew that I would never stop playing baseball. Once I got older I had two goals that I wanted to accomplish. The first one was to play high school baseball which I have accomplished, and the second one is to play at the collegiate level.
I have the drive and determination to do whatever it takes to get better. During my freshman season I wasn’t the biggest guy or the fastest guy and I wanted to change that. So after the season was over, I joined a training facility called High Intensity Sports Performance. I did everything I could to get bigger, stronger and faster. During the time period from after the freshman season to the time of tryouts my sophomore season I gained 20 pounds, became more agile, and increased my speed to the point where I was one of the fastest players on the team. This year I hope to get a starting spot on the varsity team.
