Personal Statement
My name is Tyler Trower and I'm a 2023 graduate at Freeport High School in Freeport, Florida. I've played baseball for 13 years and I'm grateful to all the coaches that helped me become the player I am today. My desire is to continue playing the sport that I love while learning new skills from professional coaches and expanding my knowledge of baseball. I like to keep active all year by playing other sports such as soccer, golf, track, and wrestling, however baseball is the sport I live for. Baseball taught me dedication, teamwork, endurance, mental toughness, and growing from my mistakes. I have a good sense of attitude when it comes to succeeding or failing. My mother told me, "the best baseball players shake off their mistake and move on to the next play." I live by this saying and know that each mistake I make is a lesson to learn from. My idea of the most important thing in baseball is teamwork. It doesn't matter how great of a player you are, you can't win without a team in hand. That's why I work hard on the field to improve not only my skills, but to also help my teammates improve their skills.
When I'm not on the field, I love to build and design, therefore, I plan to obtain a degree in engineering. Education and baseball is like a pyramid to me, if you take one out the other falls. Classes in high school and college are utmost important as it will help me become a functional member of society. However, baseball is my all time joy and provides physical and social experiences that improve my academic performance. To have the college baseball experience will not only be a dream come true, but it will also enable me to help coach in the future. I love to lead others by showing inspiration and courage. For my school's community service requirement, I've chosen to coach a special ed. youth game. When I saw the kids finally get to play, I fell in love with coaching because it warms my heart to create a time and experience with these extraordinary individuals.
