Personal Statement
I can remember the first time I stepped on the baseball field, at the local park, at the age of 8. To be honest, baseball wasn't my first sport of choice. Someone advised my parents that baseball would help me become a better basketball player. I never looked back, as I took to the sport quite quickly. It was not hard to fall in love with the game. Because of some defining moments during my early years of baseball, I knew deep down I could be really good at this.
Participating in a team sport has allowed me to grow in more ways than one. I've learned how to lose graciously, and also be humble during a win. I pick my teammates up when they might be feeling down about themselves. I always make sure to encourage everyone around me to do their best. I also have learned, as a pitcher, how to control my mental state, as well. Both winning and losing has taught me valuable lessons that can be applied on and off the field. I would describe myself as a coachable player and one who picks up new skills quite easily. I've remained on the path set out before me and I have learned to "Trust the Process". I plan to complete my business magnet in high school. Then, I'd like to study physical therapy in college. I am a dedicated student athlete. Given the opportunity to play at your school, you will gain a player who's committed to learning, growing, and working even harder to reach goals (both personal and team related). I guarantee that I will be an asset to you, the players, coaches, and the college.
