Quentin Graves is a 2021 class at Seminole High School. Last year as an 11th grader, he was a starter on the varsity team for Coach Kenne Brown. Prior to last year, he was a 4 year starter at Lake Mary Prep for Coach Justin Varitek. He has competed against the highest level of competition with the Florida RedHawks, World Chandler Black, 2021 Scorpions, 2021, 2021 Tri-State Arsenal, and now the 2021 Freshwater Storm organizations. Que has been instrumental in helping his teams win numerous major level events, including the 2015 USSSA Wood Bat World Series, 2016 Florida 3A High School District Championship, and most recently the 2016 AAU Grand Nationals Championship. His athletic career at Lake Mary Prep was extremely impressive, where he was the Junior High Athlete of the year, as well as playing on the Varsity Baseball and Cross Country teams since 7th grade. He also played on the JV basketball team as an 8th grader and was currently the starting point guard as a Freshman.
On the mound, Que has above average velocity and mixes up his pitches up very well. He has pitched in several “big game” situations with tremendous success. He topped out last summer at 88 mph pitching in the Marucci World Series in Baton Rouge striking out over 50% of the batters he faced during the summer.
As a utility infielder, Que has excellent range with a very strong arm, having the ability to make the long throws while displaying better than average accuracy. He has above average speed and gets a good jump on the ball off of the bat. He displays very good footwork in turning the double play from both sides of the bag, understanding how to play Corners and MIF positions very well. At the plate, Que is a switch hitter that makes solid contact with the ball. He is primarily a line drive hitter, but has shown signs of becoming a power hitter as he continues to grow and get stronger. He has a good feel for his swing and rarely swings at pitches out of the strike zone. His speed allows him to get extra base hits while becoming a threat on the bases as well. He is very confident when hitting in pressure situations.
Que has worked continuously to improve his skills by pushing himself as hard as possible while training with his coaches. He has recently added some strength with his off-season training program. He is an extremely dedicated player with outstanding leadership qualities and a great attitude. His abilities and character will guide him confidently to the next level both on & off the field. Overall, Que knows how to prepare for a game and always leaves everything on the field. Que has a bright future playing baseball and will be a very solid investment for anyone wanting to bring him into their organization.
