Personal Statement
When I played my first baseball game at the age of five, I knew my heart belonged on the field. My path from that day to now has been full of its challenges. I have never been the strongest, tallest, or fastest player on the team. Those adversities fueled my passion for the game. They have helped develop my work ethic, build my character, and have taught me about teamwork.
Two of the greatest influences in my life are Denny and Blake Doyle. I have been extremely blessed to have learned the game of baseball through them over the years. However, what I am most grateful for is the person they have helped me become. Baseball is a game of failures and can be unforgiving. They have taught me the value of my character, the importance of the people in my life, and in trusting the process.
As a sophomore I made the decision to transfer high schools in order to provide myself a better academic environment. That year I was able to play a key role in helping grow the varsity baseball program. My coaches heavily relied on my ability as a utility infielder/outfielder and as a leadoff hitter throughout the season. My greatest baseball achievement so far occurred that season when I helped lead the team to its first district win in school history.
I am interested in studying sports management or exercise science. I look forward to finding a school where I can continue to grow both academically and athletically. I feel that my work ethic, character, and ability as a utility player can make a positive impact on a college team.
