Hello- My name is Bradley Lesserson, and I am a rising junior at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. I was born on March 12, 2004 in New York City. I am currently 6'0" and 160 LBS. I have played varsity baseball since my freshman year. I am primarily a right-handed pitcher and also play third base, and I am a right-handed batter.
I love the game of baseball. I started playing when I was four years old, and have never stopped. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches, including a few who have played Major League Baseball. These coaches have taught me to respect the game, and without them I wouldn't be the player that I am today. When I am not playing baseball or not in school I enjoy working out, fishing, riding my bike, playing chess and watching my favorite team, the New York Mets. I am a real student of the game, and I probably watch close to 200 games a year either on tv or in person. My dad takes me and my brother to as many MLB spring training and regular season games as he can, and we also support our favorite local minor league teams the Jupiter Hammerheads, Palm Beach Cardinals and Port St Lucie Mets. During the school year, my studies and baseball take up most of my time, but I also have been working out 6 days a week at Fitness Institute of Performance training with professional trainers. I take pitching lessons from a former major league pitcher, and I also do speed and agility training with my trainer who is a former college pitcher. Although I love baseball and it is my passion, I know that my studies and grades take priority. I work extremely hard in my classes, and I am always challenging myself by taking the hardest curriculum I can by taking honors and AP classes whenever possible. As a freshman I had an approximate 3.4 unweighted GPA which is good, but I knew I can do better. After my freshman year I was diagnosed with ADD with poor processing skills, so it was recommended that I be allowed extra class time for tests and exams. As a result, my unweighted GPA jumped to approximately 3.9 as a sophomore even though my class load was more difficult than it was as a freshman. I have also made my schools Head of School list three consecutive semesters. When it comes to college I would like to be a pre-med major. If baseball doesn't work out I would like to be a veterinarian and help animals, which I am currently doing by volunteering at a local dog rescue ranch.
In conclusion I would like to assure all of the college coaches interested in me that I'm a hard worker both on and off the field. I try to be a better student, baseball player and person every day. On the field I communicate loud and clear with my teammates and coaches. Coaches tell me that I am very coachable and always open to listening to advice.
Respectfully submitted, Bradley Lesserson
