"No athlete is truly tested until they have stared injury in the face and come out stronger than ever"
Baseball is a game of uncertainty, injuries can appear, winning teams can end up losing, and you may never know when you will stop playing. What is certain is the commitment you have to the game. The start of my high school career I was faced with an injury that forced me to make a decision. Will I ever play again? Without hesitation I chose surgery, even with an added risk of testing positive with Covid two days prior to my scheduled surgery date. I chose not to hang up my cleats. Leaving the game behind was not an option for me. The surgery was a success and with that my drive to constantly better myself soared. Being competitive by nature both in the classroom and on the field has taught me the values of hard work, overcoming adversity, being coachable, and to always learn something new each day. With my dedication and work ethic, I am now even stronger than ever before. This has further cemented my goal to play college baseball and to carry out an education to lead me to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, so I can help others know that an injury does not have to be the cause of their final game. I look forward to becoming part of your baseball family.
